9.1. The card and its renewals are delivered exclusively electronically. The buyer acknowledges that the digital card can only be displayed in the ISIC App after the buyer has activated a profile in the ISIC App. A buyer without a mobile device or a device on which the ISIC App cannot be downloaded, has the ability to use the digital card via the mobile website m.isic.org.

9.2. The ordered digital card will be made available to the buyer in the ISIC App once all the eligibility conditions relating to the card have been met and no later than five business days from the date on which the funds, corresponding to the price according to the concluded purchase contract, are credited to the seller’s bank account.

9.3. The ordered plastic card will be delivered to the buyer within 14 days after the digital card is made available in the ISIC App and the funds corresponding to the price according to the concluded purchase contract are credited to the seller’s bank account.

9.4. The seller shall not be liable for any delivery delays caused by the carrier.

9.5. Delivery methods:

  1. Digital card – electronic delivery;
  2. Plastic card – via the shipping company Deutsche Post.

10.1. The ISIC is generally provided as a digital card with a 12-month term, unless a different term is specified during the ordering process. The card is provided digitally following successful completion of the order and, if necessary, after verification of the customer’s eligibility.

10.2. Additionally, the customer may purchase a plastic card, if offered. The plastic card is a supplementary physical version of the digital ISIC and does not extend the card’s term. Its validity corresponds to that of the digital card.

10.3. In the event of technical issues with the digital card, incorrect card data, or defects in the plastic card, the customer may contact our customer service (hallo@isic.at, +49-(0)40-414649-0). Justified defects will be remedied in accordance with legal regulations, in particular through data correction, re-issuance of the digital card, technical rectification, or replacement of the plastic card.

10.4. Errors resulting from incorrect information provided by the customer, as well as loss, theft, or damage to the plastic card after receipt, are not considered defects, provided we are not responsible for these circumstances. A replacement card may be offered in these cases for a separate fee.

10.5. The benefits and partner offers associated with the ISIC may change during the term of the agreement and are in part provided by third-party providers.

10.6. The customer’s statutory rights regarding defects remain unaffected.

11.1. Contract term: The buyer acknowledges that by ordering a card the buyer enters into a “Contract for the Purchase of a Card”, whereas these GTC form an integral part of such contract. The contract is a fixed-term contract concluded for the period of validity of the relevant card. The period of validity can be found on the buyer’s card and in the ISIC App.

11.2. Content of the contract: The Contract for the purchase of a card consists of the following components: order (accepted and confirmed by eduverify) and the following annexes to the contract that form an integral part thereof:

  1. General Terms and Conditions for Ordering – this document that governs the rights and obligations in connection with purchases of cards;
  2. Rules for the Use of Cards – these rules set out obligations in connection with the use of cards and are available here;

(Hereinafter collectively also referred to as “annexes to the contract”).

11.3. Cancellation by the buyer: Even if an order is sent and confirmed, it can still be cancelled before a payment is made by sending an email to hallo@isic.at (to cancel your order, please include your name and surname, order number, date of birth and type of card ordered).

11.4. Unilateral changes to contractual documents of eduverify: A concluded contract may be amended by agreement of the parties (by agreement of eduverify and the Buyer), but also by changes to the contractual documents that form annexes listed in Section 11.2; these annexes may be amended unilaterally by eduverify as follows:

  1. Annexes may in particular be amended in case of amendments to the applicable legislation, need for an amendment due to technical reasons, due to changes resulting from changes in the product (provision of new features, change of existing features, etc.), and due to other material reasons.
  2. The effectiveness of changes shall only affect newly concluded purchase contracts, unless such changes are notified to the buyer and the buyer does not withdraw from the contract within seven days of the notification of the changes on the grounds that the Buyer does not agree with the changes.

  3. The buyer shall not be entitled to a refund of the card price in case of the buyer’s withdrawal from the contract due to a unilateral change to the annexes, unless the change implies a restriction of the services directly linked to the use of the card as an identifying digital card.

11.5. Termination of the contract by the Buyer: The buyer may cease to use a card at their request at any time. Therefore, the buyer may terminate the contract for the use of a card, which also contains these GTC, without cause as follows:

  1. The buyer may send a written notice “Termination of the Contract for the Use of a Card” or another similar notice to the eduverify contact details specified in Article 1 of these GTC.
  2. The notice of termination shall be effective within 30 days of its receipt; however, not before the plastic card is returned, without which the termination cannot take effect.
  3. As of the effective date of termination, the option to use the relevant card as a form of identification expires, together with the possibility to use discounts, perks or benefits that are provided with the card, as a bonus to the concluded agreement.
  4. In the event the buyer terminates the contract without cause, the buyer shall not be entitled to a refund of the purchase price, price of shipping or any other financial consideration.

11.6. Request for cancellation of a Card by the Buyer: The buyer or holder (as appropriate) may, at any time, request the termination of the possibility to use their card (identification card, Digital ID) or to utilize the discounts and benefits that the card holder qualifies for upon proving their status. In case of this request, eduverify shall proceed in a similar manner as in case of the termination pursuant to Section 11.5 of these GTC.

11.7. Withdrawal from the contract by the Buyer: The buyer has the right to withdraw from the contract in cases foreseen by the applicable legislation. If the buyer is a consumer, the buyer’s withdrawal shall also be governed by Article 8 of these GTC.

11.8. Termination and withdrawal from the contract by eduverify:

  1. eduverify is not entitled to terminate the contract without cause by giving notice.
  2. eduverify has the right to withdraw from the contract in cases foreseen by the applicable legislation. A material breach of the contract by the buyer shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
    1. Breach of the contract, its annexes and/or these GTC;
    2. Threat caused to an information system of eduverify by the buyer or from the buyer’s equipment;
    3. Failure of the buyer to comply with the buyer’s security obligations with respect to the device on which the card is located;
    4. Violation, abuse or circumvention of the Rules for Use of Cards;
    5. False or misleading statements by the buyer;
    6. Damage caused by the buyer to eduverify.
  3. Furthermore, eduverify has the right to withdraw from the contract or cancel an unconfirmed order, as appropriate, in the following cases:
    1. The buyer has sent an order for a card to eduverify, but has not paid for the order by the agreed due date and has not remedied the situation within one month of eduverify’ request;
    2. The buyer has sent an order for a card to eduverify, but the order is not complete, i.e. it does not contain all mandatory information, personal data and particulars for the issuance of the selected Card according to the contract, including annexes thereto, and the buyer has not remedied the situation within one month of eduverify’ request;
    3. In case an order for a card is cancelled for one of the aforementioned reasons and payment has been made, the amount of the price will be refunded to the buyer’s account within two weeks of the cancellation.
  4. In the event eduverify withdraws from the contract for the reasons set out in the provisions of the above subsection ii, the buyer shall not be entitled to claim a refund of the purchase price.

12.1. In the event the buyer loses or finds a card, the buyer is required to follow the Rules.

12.2. When using a card, including its security, the holder undertakes to follow the information in these GTC and the Rules without reservation.

12.3. Complaints procedure:

  1. The buyer has the right to lodge a complaint with the Seller.
  2. The seller has authorized a person to receive complaints; this person shall receive complaints by email at hallo@isic.at.
  3. The seller shall always confirm the registration of the complaint electronically.
  4. In case of recurring complaints, the authorized person is responsible for discussing the issue with their supervisor.
  5. The seller shall handle complaints without undue delay and in any case within 30 calendar days.
  6. The buyer shall be informed about the way the complaint is handled electronically, always within the period specified in the first sentence of this provision. In case it is necessary for the effective exercise of buyer’s rights, the Seller shall inform the buyer about any other rights.

13.1. These GTC do not apply to any sale or issuance of cards other than on the website by eduverify.

13.2. In case a card was issued at a school or other organization, the buyer shall assert their rights and claims with the institution where the card was purchased or obtained.

13.3. In case of any ambiguity regarding the interpretation or use of a card, the buyer shall contact eduverify using the contact details specified in Article 1 of these GTC.

13.4. In other matters that are not expressly agreed, the relationship between the seller and the buyer shall be governed by the Bürgerliche Gesetzbuch (BGB), as amended.

13.5. The buyer shall read these GTC carefully and, in the event the buyer does not understand any provision, to contact eduverify using the contact details specified in Article 1 of these GTC.

13.6. The buyer will receive the purchase contract and these GTC by email upon conclusion of the purchase contract.

13.7. The following annex forms an integral part of the contract and these GTC:
